As WOW's purpose is to unite women in friendship and community service, in addition to organizing this wonderful holiday event, WOW unites the community in the spirit of the season through our “Season of Giving” project linked to the parade.  Each year, a local non-profit organization is selected to receive the funds raised through the parade and project.  Last year, the Fauquier Free Clinic received a gift of $5,500.  This year’s recipient will be Community Touch, Inc.

  • Community Touch, Inc. provides the following services to Fauquier County and surrounding communities:  Victory Transitional Housing is the flagship program of the organization and has forty beds.  The program offers one year transitional housing to homeless men, women and children with a broad range of needs.  The program helps individuals save money, repair credit and learn basic budgeting skills to sustain a higher quality of life.  The program also provides counseling to help alleviate the causes of homelessness.  Clara’s Faith House Food Pantry provides food for hungry families.  The food pantry feeds approximately four hundred people a month.  Noah’s Ark Outreach offers free household furniture, appliances, clothes and other miscellaneous household items to the less fortunate.  Community Touch, Inc. presently needs financial resources to purchase beds; operational funds are needed for counseling services, youth activities and staffing. Visit www.communitytouchinc.org for more information.

WOW Fauquier is presently seeking parade sponsors, to cover parade costs and to raise funds for Community Touch, Inc. To get the whole community involved, we will once again have volunteers walking the parade route with big red Christmas stockings, collecting voluntary cash donations for Community Touch. Inc.
Every dollar truly makes a difference!
