The "Season of Giving" project raised over $5500 for the Fauquier Free Clinic. On accepting the donation for The Clinic, Rob Marino, Fauquier Free Clinic Director, said that for each $1 donation that they receive, they can provide
$5 worth of healthcare services. So the funds that were raised will provide
*over $27,000 worth of healthcare services within our community! WOW!

Information - Warrenton Christmas Parade ~ 2010
WOW Fauquier County is proud to announce that we will once again be organizing Warrenton's annual Christmas parade, to take place along Main Street, on Saturday, December 4th, 2010 at 10 AM.
The theme of this year's parade is "Season of Giving"

Christmas is a time of giving, not just giving of gifts, but of giving of ourselves, and of coming together. We, as a community can come together to try to help fill the needs of our community. This year, in addition to offering a day of fun and holiday cheer, we will be uniting the community in a common cause ~ raising funds for the Fauquier Free Clinic...giving the "gift of health" to those less fortunate within our community.
The Fauquier Free Clinic's purpose is to provide primary health and dental care for local uninsured families. Volunteer doctors, nurses, dentists, and lay people donate their time and energy, but medications and medical supplies cost real money. The clinic is helping 50% more patients each month than just two years ago. Many of the patients at the Free Clinic have been surviving on unemployment benefits, but those benefits are expiring. Worse yet, donors and sponsors are having hard times of their own, and that is finally starting to show up in reduced giving. The clinic needs our support! We are presently seeking parade sponsors and we will have volunteers walking the parade route with very large stockings, collecting voluntary cash donations for the Fauquier Free Clinic. Every dollar makes a difference!
