Specialty Clubs and Meetings

WOW offers a variety of clubs to meet the varied interests of its members. These clubs are a great way to meet up with members with similar interests.  

The following is a sampling of the clubs that are now available (Active) or that we hope to organize in the coming months.  If you have a suggestion for a specialty club, please share it with us.

Community Service Meeting - WOW hosts a community service meeting monthly for members interested in planning and implementing community service projects. The community service meeting is usually held on the 2nd Monday of the month from 7:00 to approx. 8:30 PM. Active

Book Club - The WOW Book Club meets to discuss books of interest to its members. Book selections include both fiction and non-fiction. This club is a great way to bond with other members through lively, fun, and thought provoking discussions. Active

WOW 500 -  Get out, get walking, and get healthy!!  Members of the WOW500 walk (run, bike, jog, etc.) on their own or together, and log their miles...goal - 500 group miles!!

NEW - Day Trippers - This club is for those that want to get out...day tripping...shopping, to the theatre, special events, sight seeing...whatever can be done in a day trip! Active

Dinner Club (a.k.a Cooking Club) - The WOW Dinner Club is for those members that like good food and conversation.  The scheduled host picks a theme, and members bring a dish to share.  This group meets monthly at member homes.

Movie Club - The WOW Movie Club is for those members who are interested in watching movies as a group.  Movie club is either held at a members home, or at a local theater.

Hiking Club - The WOW Hiking Club is for those members who love the great outdoors and who like to spend a few hours a month hiking in beautiful settings.  Hikes are generally held on the weekend, but could also occur during the week.  Hike locations are chosen by members of the club, but are usually local (i.e. within an hour or so).

Walking Club -  The WOW Walking Club is for members that enjoy exercising by walking.  WOW members sometimes walk as a group, but also walk independently.  WOW  members track their mileage to determine a weekly score.  Individual weekly scores are totaled together to meet an overall  "WOW Miles Walked" weekly goal.  Get on your shoes and get going!!  

Wine Club - The WOW Wine Club is for members who appreciate fine wine.  The club hosts such things as wine tastings, visits to local vineyards, and wine/food pairing dinners.  If you like wine, you'll love this club.
